TETRAPROOF
Elastomeric waterproofing system (cement – acrylic)
Tetraco Tetraproof is a high flexible, permanent waterproofing system. It is a two component system, Tetraproof Resin (acrylic base PRIMAL AS-8012) and Tetraproof Powder (cement base) to be mixed on site. It will adhere to new or old surfaces of concrete, asbestos, bitumen, tiles, granite, etc. Tetraproof has long-life flexibility and is ideally suited for use in areas with extreme climatic conditions. After drying it can be walked upon uncovered. Applied Tetraproof has high resistance to chemical attack, atmospheric pollution and U.V. light.
Tetraproof Resin
Tetraproof Resin is based on concentrated acrylic resins (PRIMAL AS-8012) which are highly resistant to alkali and U.V. lights, permanently flexible, and miscible with cement and cement-based materials in all proportions. Combined with Tetraproof Powders in the correct ratio, it forms a durable, continuous, flexible waterproofing membrane for roofs, facades and water tanks.
Tetraproof Powder
Tetraproof Powder are screed powders mixed with Tetraproof Resin and water to produce Tetraproof system, a flexible weatherproofing. Tetraproof Powders are formulated using special cements and finely graded sands.
Advantages
- Permanent waterproofing system
- Abrasion resistant
- Non-toxic, ideal for water tanks
- Weather resistant
- Highly flexible with high adhesion power
- Cement mortars adhere to it
- Bridges cracks in substrate
- Vapor permeable
Areas of use
Tetraproof can be used on most building surfaces for waterproofing of roofs, facades, foundations, retaining walls, swimming pools, planters, wet room floors, water tanks, etc.
Preparation of surface
Ensure that dust, dirt or foreign matter are removed from the roof surface. Ridges and form oil must be removed. If the surface shows signs of flaking or dusting, clean thoroughly and prime with a solution of Tetraproof Resin / water in the ratio of 1/2.
Application
Tetraproof is supplied as cement powder and acrylic resin, mixed in quantities as indicated in chart. Add the powder to the resin. Mix with either a high-speed mixer until the mix is homogenous (approx 5 – 10 minutes). If spraying, add water until the mix is of the correct consistency. Apply first coat using brush, roller or spray. Further coats can be applied allowing 3 hours between coats to dry. Mixed Tetraproof must be used within 1 hour of mixing.
